Stanley A. Fonder, President of SMJ Contracting, Inc. has been a principal since January 1998 and has been responsible for guiding operations since January 2000. Mr. Fonder was fortunate to be introduced to construction at an early age and knew building offered many rewards. The spirit of accomplishment helped fuel his desire to pursue and achieve a bachelors of science degree in Construction Management at Spring Garden College in Pennsylvania. Several years of field and office experience were performed and Mr. Fonder later enrolled at Saint Joseph’s University and obtained a master’s degree in business administration.
Applying valued Jesuit education and many years of field experience, Mr. Fonder remains focused on continuing SMJ Contracting, Inc.’s growth. Growth for SMJ comes in many forms i.e., internal growth of company associates, quality standards and expectations of associates, and customer retention and satisfaction. Stewardship is a term rarely used in corporate America but clearly defines current leadership at SMJ. Mr. Fonder mentors associates that “we are Blessed to manage the company today and on a short term basis, preparing and building for the next generation of company leadership."
